Getting High… via Vegan Paleo Mocha Chip Ice Cream
Some people are content to see the world exactly as they view it through their eyes and call it a day, every day.  Other people yearn for more: brighter colors, deeper feelings, cosmic connection.  I’ve always been the latter, and even as a small child I did things to get “high,” like push on my eyeballs with my fingers because it made me see flashes of pretty colors.  I have multiple memories of my mother scolding at me to stop that,  it can hurt your eyes.  It became a late-at-night (read: after 8 pm bedtime) pleasure, pretty much until I was old enough to smoke pot and moved on to that instead.  My college years were spent seeing A LOT OF PRETTY COLORS on a regular basis, and in the many years since my UC Santa Cruz haze, aka since “growing up” (while remaining a rainbow haired tattooed girl in DIY torn up tank tops), I’ve transitioned to finding euphoria in everything from farmers markets to herbal tonics.
Just because tonic herbs are legal, doesn’t mean they can’t get you crazy blissed out.  Beyond that, of course, are their myriad health benefits, which include everything from reversing gray hair (thank you, he shou wu!!) to helping your body better adapt to stress.  The only real issue I ever had with herbal tonics is the fact that though they are best absorbed eaten as a food rather than taken as a pill, they tend to taste pretty nasty.  Enter Longevity Power, purveyors of outrageously effective– and delightfully palatable– premium quality herbs.
When I first tried LP’s “Levity,” which is an extract of red asparagus root (not related to normal asparagus, the veggie), I seriously felt like I was back in Santa Cruz partying like the type of rock star I am way too old to make my body be these days.  It tastes like caramel, and it feels like ecstasy.  And it totally helps your body adapt to stress, to boot.  Add to that their Epic Reishi, which has an espresso flavor and provides support for your immune system, liver, and nervous system, and what do you get?  Well, if you’re a culinary creative, you get ICE CREAM.  Killer joyful mocha ice cream that is crazy good for you, being made predominantly of avocado and sweet potato, and is both vegan AND paleo, in addition to low glycemic.  It is also super easy to make, the most difficult aspect of it being the do-ahead roasted sweet potato, and no one will know it isn’t full of dairy, soy, or anything processed at all.  Because ice cream, like everything else, deserves to make you feel really, really good inside.
Getting High… via Vegan Paleo Mocha Chip Ice Cream

Magic Mocha Chip Ice Cream

1 small roasted sweet potato (any color)
1 avocado
1 1/2 cups coconut milk or other thick milk
1/4 cup raw cacao powder or cocoa powder
2 tbls coconut nectar or honey
3 tbls Longevity Power Levity
1 1/2 tsp Longevity Power Epic Reishi
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp chocolate extract
3/4 tsp salt
stevia to taste: I like Sweet Drops toffee and use 2 droppers full
Blend all ingredients in a high powered blender until smooth. If you don’t have a high powered blender like a Vitamix, add additional milk as needed. This is awesome eaten straight from the blender as a pudding, especially if you add a couple tbls of coconut oil before blending. But if you want to persevere and take it a step further to the land of frozen summer happiness, just chill the mixture until cold (about 1/2 an hour in the fridge, presuming your roasted sweet potato was cooled off) and then process in an ice cream maker.
Add 1/2 cup cacao nibs or chocolate chips, or some of each, at the very end, and freeze until firm.
Serve with a sprinkle of extra reishi on top and subsequently confound your friends and loved ones when you give them some then let them in on the fact that the tastiest mocha ice cream they’ve ever had has not a drop of dairy, soy, or coffee in it. Whole foods and superfoods take the cake– hell, they take the whole dessert– every time.

This Herbal Chocolate Dipped Fruit recipe will:

– protect your DNA from environmental toxins (many of the herbs are detoxifying and cell-protective in nature)**
– unleash the better side of your genetics – tap into your greatest physical + emotional potential**
– insure your health beyond what traditional health insurance could ever possibly offer**
– give you resilience to stressful situations so you’re not bogged down by depleted energy dealing with life**

Herbal Chocolate Dipped FruitINGREDIENTS

You only need to buy 2 items to make this recipe – I’ve kept it super simple for you!

1) Fresh organic ripe fruit (preferably from your local farmer’s market for berries, and if you use bananas please make sure they’re super ripe!)
2) 1-4 Chocolate Goldies (you can use more; this is a starting amount and what I used to make the recipe in pictures shown)

Herbal Chocolate Dipped Fruit

PREP WORK
1) Melt 4 Chocolate Goldies at a low temperature in the oven or hot water bath (in a bowl that’s within a bigger bowl of hot water) on top of the stove (each bar is 1 ounce so you’re melting 4 ounces total).
2) Chop your fresh fruit into bite-size pieces, place together on a plate for easy quick access, and get your natural wood / bamboo tongs & a spoon ready for action.

DIRECTIONS
1) With the melted chocolate in a bowl next to your plate of organic fruit, pick up a piece of fruit with the tongs, scoop a spoonful of the chocolate and pour over the fruit, let the excess drip off, and gently place on a separate clean plate.
2) Repeat until all fruit is used (don’t forget to taste test!) 😉

The Chocolate Goldies are a TEMPERED perfected superfood chocolate bar allowing your chocolate to naturally harden within minutes of being dipped with fruit. Once all fruit has been dipped or drenched, serve and enjoy as is, or pop in the fridge to relish later. YUM!!

Herbal Chocolate Dipped Fruit

The question may arise if you *have* to use the Chocolate Goldies – or can you just melt some bitter cacao paste, add some dried herbal powders, and call it good? My answer is that sure you can do anything you want, but not if you want supremely silky smooth (stone ground), truly aphrodisiac style, endocrine-supporting (hormone-balancing) cacao alchemy that will activate your inner power, ability to give and receive love, and inspire you to want more for yourself.

I’ve meticulously formulated the Herbal Harmony flavor that you’ll use for this recipe and it goes way beyond just adding a tonic herbal powder blend (Longevity in a Bottle) to a chocolate bar. Shoot for the stars you guys and you’ll zoom right past them IF you raise your standards and align with the most potent high integrity nutrition that is 100% recognized by your body as real food.

Prioritize your health & happiness, today… right now! What could be more fun or delicious than whipping up a quick batch of these chocolate dipped fruits and enjoying them as a treat with friends? You and everyone you make these for will adore them not only because they are a quick raw dessert recipe to make, but because you get your infusion of 40 different adaptogenic tonic herbs in every single bite. You don’t need to know how to formulate tonics or how to synergize herbs for maximum potency and absorption. I’ve done this complex step for you!

Peanut Butter Bars w/ Raw Chocolate Chips & Maca Bliss

Peanut butter + raw chocolate + medjool dates (caramel) + Maca Bliss. You may need nothing else for the rest of the day! This is a raw dessert recipe that could trigger a slight addiction, but because it’s so balanced with our adrenal-restoring** Maca Bliss, you’ll be just fine. You may be blissed out, but there will be no negative consequences… let’s get right to it, shall we?

PEANUT BUTTER BARS W/ RAW CHOCOLATE CHIPS & MACA BLISS

1 cup gluten-free organic oats
1/2+ cup pitted organic medjool dates, more as needed
1 tablespoon pure organic maple syrup
1/2 cup heirloom organic raw chocolate chips
2 tablespoons Longevity Power’s Maca Bliss
2 tablespoons organic raisins
1 tablespoon organic peanut butter (roasted or wild jungle peanut butter)
1 teaspoon ground vanilla bean
1/4 teaspoon sea salt

Process the oats into a flour in your food processor (approx 20 seconds). Add the dates as the processor is running thru the top lid feed & pulse until it begins to stick together. Add all other ingredients except some of the chocolate chips and process again. Do not over process. Add the rest of the chocolate chips at the very end for a crunchy texture!

Scoop the decadent mixture with your hands and pack lightly into your molds of choice OR just mold by hand. Then, chill in the freezer for 1 hour or longer. You may also mold the mix in a cake pan or pie dish & cut into some fun shapes for some visual variety. Gather with friends to enjoy, share your gratitude & dig in! Store your bars / cookies in the fridge or freezer.

Peanut Butter Bars w/ Raw Chocolate Chips & Maca Bliss

The combination of delicious ingredients in the recipe work really well together and will satisfy those that crave dense bites of nutrition and that have a sweet tooth that begs for dessert! Feel free to use a different nut butter if desired and your preferred liquid sweetener.

Thanks guys! Hope you enjoy this recipe – if you do, please share it with your superfood-lovin’ friends!

The Goddess Mash Recipe (Guest Post by Edible Goddess)

Ingredients all together in bowl, ready to mix

This is my most favorite savory dish recipe that has had a very positive impact on my health and thousands of others. It’s called The Goddess Mash! This meal is very satiating, super quick and easy to prepare (even while traveling), and absolutely mouth-watering and beyond delicious. I’m known for this one 😉

If you have never had raw sauerkraut (yes, it must be raw and it will say on the label) or spirulina – give them a fair shot! Even if you tried them before and couldn’t stand them, try this recipe! I have converted sauerkraut and spirulina “haters” with this simple Mash.

Meal Plan Ideas:

– nori roll “burritos”  with the Mash, veggies, spices, and seed cheeses
– collard leaf “burritos” with the same fixings as above, or different if desired
– a big leafy green salad with the Mash piled on top like guacamole
– over sprouted or cooked quinoa or millet and mixed together for a super creamy healthy dinner

The Goddess Mash – mixed together & ready to devour!

THE GODDESS MASH

1 ripe organic avocado
1/4+ cup raw sauerkraut
1/2+ teaspoon Longevity Spirulina

Place all ingredients in a beautiful bowl and mash together with a fork, like you’re making guacamole. Feel free to add more of each ingredient as your palate desires! Eat with joy and peace in your heart and belly.

* OPTIONAL additional ingredients: sprouts, chopped dark leafy greens, garden vegetables, wild greens, heirloom tomatoes, apple cider vinegar, dulse seaweed, freshly squeezed lemon, cayenne pepper, raw tahini, and sea salt.

I love the flavor and nutritional profile of Longevity Power’s Longevity Spirulina the best. Some spirulina powders are fishy in flavor and gritty in texture but Longevity Spirulina is smooth, sweet and cheesy and very conducive to this recipe.

The Goddess Mash will look green/blue-ish; this is pure life force that is extremely easy to digest infusing into your precious body! Be grateful that such a simple recipe exists which has the sincere potential to turn your health around (if needed). Each ingredient has a massive amount of nutrition and when combined together, magic happens. This dish will never get old because there are countless variations to it… an endless supply of healthy savory food that is healing, satisfying, cleansing, and rejuvenating!

With more raw sauerkraut, and raw olives & cilantro added

The sauerkraut must be raw because you want the living enzymes and exceptional healing properties of this living, high vibrational food, and the results will not be the same with non-raw krauts on the market. Raw sauerkraut is definitely 1 of my most expensive habits, but the way I eat serves as health insurance, and health assurance, and I always hold this perspective.

I’ve seen what happens when people don’t so I personally choose to spend my money wisely in a way that serves me the most. You can also make your own sauerkraut, which is a skill worth pursuing. It’s possible you’ll find balance between making your own and buying some, which is what I do.

There are countless benefits of fermented foods like kraut. Some include:

– dramatically improved digestion
– younger looking skin
– more immediate energy after eating
– better assimilation and absorption of vitamin & minerals

With tomatoes, olives, cilantro & more kraut

If you work long days and never know what to eat for lunch, or want a healthy mid-afternoon snack, this is it. If you are road-tripping short or long distances, this is it (because you can either bring a small cooler with you to keep the raw sauerkraut chilled or you can buy it at any natural health food store nationwide).

PLEASE COMMENT BELOW and let me know how you like this recipe! This is my clients’ FAVORITE savory recipe I have ever shared and I want to know what you think.
