You Maca My Day, You Maca My Night: Top Tonic Herbs for Valentine's Day
For 15 years I have had a daily dedicated love affair with holistic health.
This passion and focus on the body and mind has yielded countless health benefits and important insights which are my duty to pass on to you in the form of satisfying to implement information and easy to use potent products.
Speaking of potent: Let’s talk about sexual potency and the ability to ignite full blown carnal health in yourself and your partner… from a holistic perspective!

You Maca My Day, You Maca My Night: Top Tonic Herbs for Valentine's Day

Paradigm shift: The modern industrial+agricultural diet is one big giant sexual health destroyer. It diminishes the health of every system of the body.

What do we do to repair any damage done but this diet that we partook in and deficiencies remaining while nourishing our whole body in a way that ignites sexual health in ourselves and in a lover? How do we nourish ourselves for both immediate and long lasting results with no side effects in a way that makes us feel alive, clear, deeply energized, capable and naturally happy?
I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I do claim to ask some damn hot questions. When one asks the right questions one gets to the most appropriate answers.
One more question: Are we eating a “good enough” diet that neither causes problems nor reverses deficiencies, or are we eating an excellent diet that includes therapeutic nutrient dense substances that sustainably saturate every corner of our body with the nutrition it truly needs to thrive!?

You Maca My Day, You Maca My Night: Top Tonic Herbs for Valentine's Day

The two categories of therapeutic nutrition at the top of my list for nourishing sexual health (and really the rest of the body too) are healthy lipids and tonic herbs.
Healthy lipids (especially fresh organic/pastured/grass-fed/wild animal fats) contain so many hormone precursors and building blocks for the endocrine system, the nerves, the brain, the heart and the reproductive organs. I invite you to unlearn the fat-phobia of the 1980’s and delve into the last 20 years of research that concludes the traditional fats and plenty of them are essential for the human body. Be a lard lover. Find your coconut companion and butter beloved!
Tonic herbs: These are substances that nourish sexual health deeply, are wonderful for the organs, brain, heart, skin and adrenals, and contain trace minerals and the building blocks for the endocrine system.** Like healthy fat, tonic herbs have been neglected, but their benefits are time-tested in Chinese Medicine and in other herbal systems of the world for thousands of years and have been proven in scientific studies for decades.
Here are my top 5 tonic herb picks for nourishing to body to ignite one’s sex drive in men and women:

Vanilla Mushroom Immunity & Clarity Elixir Recipe

I am really into this easy to whip up drink right now. I mean really into it. It’s so delicious, body nourishing and brain boosting – mmmmm I just keep wanting more! I feel so alive and so connected when I drink it. I often make extra, throw it in a mason jar, and use the elixir to hydrate with throughout the day.

It’s sugar free, nearly zero carb, ketogenic friendly, gluten free, dairy free and excellent for those with candida (the medicinal mushrooms are naturally anti-fungal – they don’t feed candida and they can help your immune system annihilate candida overgrowth!)**

The ingredients are just so perfect this time of year too – autumn. The medicinal mushrooms – some of which are seasonal in the wild soon – are powerful adaptogens that strengthen the immune system – perfect to help prevent colds in the cold season. The mushrooms’ coffee-like flavor and the organic vanilla are such cheerful fall tastes and aromas. Many of these fungal allies are powerful nerve tonics for mental clarity, concentration and building resilience to stress. There are a whopping 35 medicinal mushroom extracts and concentrates in our formula – mushrooms like reishi, chaga and cordyceps!

I often rely on Mushroom Immunity for endurance at the gym. Because it is a very well rounded adaptogen, it makes me want to go harder for much much longer. And the fact that I can have it in such a delicious form makes me only the more excited to be proactive with my health.

Medicinal mushrooms are often considered the universal herbal tonic: They are excellent for both those who feel healthy and want to perform and feel better, and for those with issues in their tissues or other conditions where other tonic herbs might be contraindicated. Medicinal mushrooms are excellent for those who caught a cold, are pregnant or breastfeeding, and for children too.** Medicinal mushrooms – starting with very small dosages and gradually building up – are known as one of the best ways those with a compromised immune system can naturally build it up.**

Vanilla Mushroom Immunity & Clarity Elixir

Blend on high in any blender for 10 seconds:

3/4 cup spring water

1/3 cup ice cubes

1 teaspoon Longevity Power Mushroom Immunity

1/2 teaspoon organic vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon, to taste, stevia extract powder (I love NOW Better Stevia)

1/16 teaspoon sea salt

Optional: 1/8-1/4 teaspoon, to taste, Longevity Power Epic Reishi for a ‘dark roast’ flavored kick and an extra strong mental clarity boost.

Pour into a glass and imbibe in the good-for-you-ness!

I love ice cold drinks, but if you love hot drinks just replace the spring water and ice cubes with very warm water. Hot water does not damage the medicinal mushrooms as most of them are hot water extracts. Enjoy!

To your greatest health!

The Organic Egg Nog Recipe for Kicking Butt Through New Year's

This is the biohacker’s egg nog. The nog that keeps on kicking. Kicking butt that is, at your health and stress-resilience goals. This is the nog for your noggin (brain health optimization) and your body (nutrition therapy minus the food sensitivities/allergens).** It’s for people that love nog but can’t do cream and sugar, and for folks who don’t usually like egg nog but have a hankering’ for some nutmeg cinnamon spice up in their paleoesque superfood smoothie. This is the ketogenic friendly low carb athlete’s secret December weapon of choice. This is the Rocky fan and herbalist’s milk shake. This recipe is here to help you make a big difference in your health while you’re busy being festive.

Most importantly, this egg nog which is made with real organic egg yolks tastes better than store bought sugary egg nog and is sharable with your friends and family at any occasion while skyrocketing their health and mood. Even your Uncle Joe who loves conventional rum-spiked egg nog can have this (and it might help him avoid a carb-coma this year). 😉

Blend in blender for 30 seconds:

4 organic pasture-raised egg yolks

1/3 cup hydrolyzed collagen protein powder

1/3 cup organic refined coconut oil

1/3 cup sweet LUV (or sweetener of choice)

1/3 cup colostrum powder

1 teaspoon Longevity Power Maca Bliss

1 teaspoon Longevity Power Pearl Extract or GLOW He Shou Wu

1/4 teaspoon ground vanilla bean

1/4 teaspoon organic vanilla extract

1/4 teaspoon organic cinnamon powder (Ceylon cinnamon is best, cassia cinnamon is 2nd best)

2-5 pinches of ground nutmeg (or ever better is zested or chopped small pieces of whole nutmeg), to taste (strong but essential stuff, start with less)

2 pinches sea salt

1/2 cup very warm or hot spring water

Then add and blend for 20 seconds:

2 cups spring water ice cubes

Pour into some classy cups, glasses of mugs, and top with small pinches of organic cinnamon powder, ground vanilla, organic ground nutmeg, organic ground clove, organic cocoa powder and/or colostrum powder.

Optional: Add your favorite tonic tinctures of choice or, if you drink or are serving nog to your social drinking friends and family, offer a shot of rum, brandy, bourbon or other spirit, to taste. Egg nog is traditionally designed to be rich and thick enough to be thinned slightly by alcohol. This recipe is a great way to sneak some health back into your loved ones under the radar, whether they prefer their holiday cheer virgin or spiked.

Optional: For the coffee lovers, you can add coffee or espresso to ‘bullet proof’ this (the ingredients colostrum and coconut oil count as your butter and MCT oil in this case).

To your healthiest of holidays and a new year blessed with fulfilling accomplishments!

Aphrodisiac Cream of Sage, Rosemary and Thyme soup garnished with a sprinkle of Coconut Aminos and a pinch of parsley

Blend in a high-speed blender on high for 1 – 2 minutes:

2 1/2 cups warm herbal tea (ginger and medicinal mushrooms like shiitake are easy and flaverful!)

3 tablespoons organic miso (chickpea miso is excellent and soy-free)

3 tablespoons organic dried sea vegetables (choose from whole kelp, dulse, sea lettuce, laver and other favorites)

1 1/2 tablespoons coconut oil

1 1/2 tablespoons olive oil or organic ghee (my favorite!) or more coconut oil

2 teaspoons hemp seeds or collagen protein powder

No-Bake Cinnamon Vanilla Maca Gingerbread Recipe

This recipe is so awesome because aside from its medicinal mushroom base (don’t worry, doesn’t take like mushrooms), it’s very flexible in regard to ingredient choices. Never make the same tasting batch twice! It’s rich and lightly sweetened, so it goes perfect with the Longevity Power Ice Cream.

Place in a large mixing bowl or food processor and mix well:

1 cup raw medicinal mushroom mycelium – whether reishi, cordyceps, chaga or shroom blends, each medicinal mushroom has its own flavor but they all mostly taste like rice protein powder and make for a perfect low carb, hypoallergenic, energizing, gluten-free ‘flour of immunity!’**

1/4 cup warm softened healthful ‘shortenings’ –  pick 2 of these thick healthy fats: Organic ghee, organic cacao butter, organic refined coconut oil, organic virgin coconut oil, organic red palm oil, organic sunflower liquid lecithin, or grass-fed butter

1 1/2 tablespoons wholesome liquid sweetener – pick 1 or 2 of these ‘syrups:’ non-gmo/Organic glycerin, raw honey, organic molasses, etc.

1/2 tablespoon granular sweetener, such as Erythritol or Xylitol

1 tablespoon Maca Bliss

3/4 teaspoon Organic ground dried ginger or freshly micro-planed fresh ginger, to taste

1/2 teaspoon ground vanilla bean

1/4 teaspoon sea salt

1/4 teaspoon Organic true Ceylon cinnamon powder cassia cinnamon will do as well

2 pinches organic stevia extract, or more to taste

2 pinches Organic clove powder or freshly crushed dried clove buds

2 pinches freshly micro-planed Organic nutmeg

Press gingerbread dough into gingerbread molds, other festive mold shapes, or shape them with your own hands, or press flat and use cookie cutters.
