Beef and Botanicals Breakfast for Unstoppable Brains and Brawn

Beef and Botanicals Breakfast for Unstoppable Brains and Brawn

Today, I am sharing my mouth-watering uber-clean breakfast and elixir habit that might be just the kind of kick-ass junk-free nutrition your body craves too...

There are so many ways to eat: I couldn’t possibly calculate the best diet for you today. That’s your job. (And one that I encourage you to proactively discover and evolve.)

That said, macronutrients, micronutrients, antinutrients, food type, ingredient source and preparation all get to be factored in optimizing your nutrition to make you feel very good and perform at your best all day long.

What I imbibe each day has been evolving since I set out to maximize my health 21 years ago.

Given that my body is quite sensitive to problematic foods but I have also dialed in what helps me be fit and vital with long-burning energy these days, I think it would be helpful to see what I’ve been enjoying for breakfast.

The Brains, Brawn and Inner Calm Elixir Recipe tastes mocha-like OMG

This quick and comprehensive drink experience of liquid heaven:

  • extends morning energy before one breaks their fast
  • boosts mood and physical stamina 'til dinner
  • strengthens the immune system
  • rejuvenates the brain for focus
  • nourishes skin health

I’ve been digging a morning elixir that has invigorating power but also a sweetly uplifting feeling of calm because of the extremely potent medicinal mushrooms, adaptogens like red asparagus, as well as pearl in it.

When you get your preferred amount of sweetness and sea salt content just right with this elixir, it tastes very mocha-like (one of my favorite drinks when I was a kid) and contains zero stimulants.

Blend on high in any blender for 10 seconds or shake vigorously in a large shaker bottle or mason jar:

3 to 4 cups spring water or the purest water you can get
2 teaspoons Longevity Power Epic Mushrooms
1 teaspoon Longevity Power Pearl Beauty
1 teaspoon Longevity Power Levity
1/8 teaspoon, or more to taste, stevia extract powder (I love NOW Organic Better Stevia powder)
1/8 teaspoon sea salt, or more
OPTIONAL: ¼ teaspoon Longevity Power Epic Reishi and/or Glow He Shou Wu
OPTIONAL: add vanilla extract, flavored stevia liquid, or creamed coffee, to taste!

Pour into a mason jar or shaker bottle, drink half of it right away, and enjoy sipping on the rest to hydrate and keep your energy up for hours! I will often double this recipe, save some to drink with my first meal of the day so that I'm getting even more adaptogenic nutrition in while I get calories in too. Properly fueled for the win!

Fast and Easy Beef for Brains and Brawn Recipe - real slow food fast!

Done in 20 minutes:

  • wholly finger-lickin' delectable
  • abundant in clean-burning fat
  • protein-rich and bloat-free
  • auto-immune friendly
  • ketogenic
  • satiating

To break my fast in style, I can whip up a 100% grass fed beef roast in about 20 minutes.

Grass fed beef seems to be an ideal widely available animal food, especially when eaten snout to tail style (i.e. Not just eating lean muscle cuts but also collagen-rich cuts and broth, organs like liver, and beef fat. More on this in another post.)

Today I took a 100% grass fed beef rump roast cut (about 2 lbs) that had a nice thick layer of drool-worthy fat on one side, sprinkled some sea salt, lemon-pepper and garden herbs on it and broiled it (450-500*F) on a pyrex dish in the oven for 20 minutes or so, let it sit on the counter for 5 minutes, then carved into this magnificent browned on the outside and rare or medium-rare on the inside epic dish.

At the same time the beef was cooking, I heavily steamed some veggies (organic broccoli, onions and lettuce.)

I ate the beef and veggies together topped with tallow and coconut oil, lemon juice and a pinch more sea salt.

Now I have organic octane fuel coursing through my system including plenty of medicinal fatty acids like ketone-boosting MCTs (clean burning fats) and a lion’s share of adaptogens.

This meal is somehow both very carnivorish yet contains more species of phytonutrient-rich plants and mushrooms than the average plant-based eater consumes in a week.

I’m sure I’ll evolve my dietary choices over time, but for now this feels just right (no dogma here, but I admit, this meal is trendy AF!)

No blood sugar rollercoasters. No depriving myself of calories and nutrients. No health-sabotaging junk. Pure guilt-free primal subsistence.

Brawn and brains forever: May you dial in your body’s current quintessential nutrition to help fully enhance your performance and unleash the brilliance of your soul.

With love,
Christian Bates
